A practice code lets an owner identify your practice when they choose to share a report. The code does not grant automatic access to every entry, and it does not create a diagnosis, treatment plan, or promise of clinical outcomes.

Why owner support matters clinically
Research suggests the gap in owner support is real and consequential. The Big Pet Diabetes Survey, which gathered responses from 1,192 veterinarians worldwide, found respondents reported a median of one in ten diabetic pets euthanased at the point of diagnosis, with a further one in ten within the first year — commonly attributed to lack of treatment success or difficulty maintaining the routine, rather than to the disease being untreatable.
A 2024 study surveying owners of diabetic pets found around a quarter did not feel their practice supported them in managing the condition, and concluded that the effect on owner quality of life is being overlooked.
Mello is built to close part of that gap: better daily records, a clearer picture at each consultation, and an owner who feels more in control between visits.
