The moment that actually matters most

Most days, the hardest question isn't about a glucose number β€” it's 'she hasn't eaten, do I still give the injection?' Mello logs a missed dose or a refused meal the same way it logs a reading, and turns it into something concrete you can raise with your vet β€” not something you have to remember at your next appointment.

Glucose
Insulin
Meals

Log whichever matters today. None of them are required.

Log the essentials

Glucose, insulin, meals, water, weight and symptoms in one calm daily record.

See the pattern

Bring scattered observations together so changes are easier to notice and discuss.

Share a clearer picture

Turn your notes into a useful summary for your vet before or during a consultation.

Built around the real routine

The bits that matter between appointments.

Diabetes care is a series of small observations. Mello is designed to make those observations easier to keep, understand and bring to your veterinary team.

Medication records

Keep doses and timing visible without relying on memory.

Food and appetite

Record what your pet actually ate and notice changes early.

Symptoms and behaviour

Capture the context around a reading, not just the number.

A safer routine

Use your records to support conversations with your vet β€” never to replace them.

Know the warning signs

Low blood sugar needs urgent action.

Mello can help you keep a record, but it cannot assess your pet or provide emergency care. Learn the signs and follow your vet's emergency plan.

Common warning signs of low blood sugar

These signs can appear quickly. Know them to spot hypo in real time.

🦡

Wobbliness or unsteadiness

Rear legs appear weak or unstable when walking or standing

⚑

Trembling or shaking

Visible shaking of the whole body or limbs

🧠

Disorientation or blank stare

Vacant expression, confusion, bumping into things, or appearing "lost"

🍽️

Sudden intense hunger

Unusual eagerness for food or treats (especially unusual for your pet)

🚨

Severe: Collapse or seizure

Loss of consciousness or seizure activity. This is a medical emergency β€” take your pet to the vet immediately. Do not put anything in their mouth.

⏱️ Speed matters

Low blood sugar can come on in minutes. If your pet seems suddenly "not right" after insulin, treat it as a hypo first and ask questions later. Rub honey or glucose syrup on the gums and contact your vet immediately.

Prevention checklist

  • βœ“ Always feed with insulin (no exceptions)
  • βœ“ Never double-dose (most dangerous mistake)
  • βœ“ Keep exercise consistent
  • βœ“ Keep honey/glucose syrup accessible

If it happens (act fast)

  • βœ“ If conscious: rub honey on gums
  • βœ“ Call your vet immediately
  • βœ“ If unconscious/seizing: go to vet now
  • βœ“ Never put anything in mouth during seizure
